Glimpse Inside the Devotional
The Heart of This Book
For many people, waiting looks like sitting idly, expecting something to happen. Yet true waiting is never passive. To wait, hope, look, and expect requires action, patience, humility, and trust. When we plant humility in our hearts and remain attentive to the voice of God, we begin to recognize His blessings and divine favor moving with us through every adventure, disappointment, and expectation of life. There, in obedience, we experience the stillness of trusting Him—listening for His whispers and resting in His faithfulness.
Depending on our situation, we discover that:
-
Peace works in our favor when we when are waiting.
-
There are difficult situations that require us to trust in God with extraordinary faith.
-
The blessings we receive when patiently wait for He promises are overwhelming.
For me, time often presses against the desires of my heart and teaches me the discipline of waiting. My journey with the Lord reveal how easily I attach my expectations to people, circumstances, or outcomes rather than to God Himself. Since there is no whining while waiting, I realize that the weight of His Word reveals the clarity and peace to restore what was broken while I was waiting and crowns me with His goodness—His love, mercy, and grace.

The companion journal of "Waiting for God in the Son" offers you three questions that guide you into a personal encounter with the inspired devotion and word of God. Prepare yourself to ask how each applies to your life, and secondly how Scripture encourages your wait that mirrors Jesus Christ. Lastly, the last question aspires you to identify and grip His wisdom, knowledge, and understand, or how you declare your praise for your waiting experience--regardless of the degree of difficulty.
Before the First Page

It’s incredible how God can whisper into your spirit, quietly stir your heart, and awaken you toward an assignment long before you fully understand what He is doing. For me, that quiet prompting became a divine assignment that deepened my faith, strengthened my spiritual maturity, and equipped me to encourage others through His Word—all for the glory of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
The seed for Waiting for God in the Son was planted one June summer night while I was teaching a women’s Bible study. I had placed devotional cards I created for the lesson on the table for the women to choose from. As I watched, I heard a daughter in Christ say she
needed every one of them. In that moment, I knew the Holy Spirit was revealing the assignment and prompting me to write this devotional book and journal.
I began immediately, and what started as obedience soon became a refining work as God inspired me, stretched me, and tested me each step of the way. Eventually, through my perceived hardship of waiting, I gradually understood that I am not merely waiting for an answer, a change, or a breakthrough—I am experiencing God shaping and preparing me to fulfill His purpose.
Therefore, as I wait, I am learning to persevere faithfully—standing with the Son, strengthened by courage, confidence, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
More than Words on a Page
What message do you want people to take away from this book?
Having the Son of God in our lives gives us a revelation into our lives we could not possibly conceive. It's reassuring, as He gives us what no other can--knowledge and understanding of our loving heavenly Father. As I learned throughout life, waiting can be hard. However, it is profitable and calming when we see it through the lens of our Lord. Therefore, prepare to uncover weaknesses, degrees of difficulty and faults when you find yourself waiting and allow Scripture to release the spoken word of God that will teach you how to wait with endurance, patience, and perseverance, reflecting the love, mercy, and forgiveness of Jesus Christ.
